Lyney Talents
Lyney is a character who’s more powerful against Pyro-affected enemies and shines when teamed up with Pyro teammates, earning him a strong spot in Pyro-focused teams.
![]() | Card Force Translocation |
---|---|
Normal Attack | |
Normal Attack Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow. Charge Attack Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. While aiming, flames will run across the arrowhead before being fired. Different effects will occur based on the time spent charging.
Grin-Malkin Hat
At certain intervals, the Prop Arrow will cause a Spiritbreath Thorn to descend upon its hit location, dealing Pneuma-aligned Pyro DMG. Plunge Attack Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact. |

His charged attack has a second charge level called a Prop Arrow. At the simplest level, Prop Arrows will summon a hat to taunt surrounding enemies. If Lyney has above 60% HP, he will also consume 20% of his max HP to grant himself a stack of Prop Surplus, increasing the damage of his next skill.
The hat that taunts enemies will deal single-target pyro damage when defeated or expires after 4 seconds. Since only one hat can exist on the field at a time, unless you have his first constellation, creating a new hat with another charge attack will destroy the existing hat and cause it to deal pyro damage to an enemy prematurely.
As Lyney performs his special charged attack, he will occasionally deal an extra hit of pyro damage known as a Spiritbreath Thorn. The animation resembles a sword plunging into the ground. This is a weak hit of pyro damage mainly utilized for its Pneuma properties in relation to the Pneuma and Ousia system within Fontaine’s exploration.

Elemental Skill | |
Lyney does a flourish with his hat, unleashing a firework surprise! When used, he will clear all current Prop Surplus stacks and deal AoE Pyro DMG to opponents in front of him. DMG will be increased according to the stacks cleared, and this will also regenerate Lyney’s HP based on his Max HP. When a Grin-Malkin Hat created by Lyney is on the field, the fireworks will cause it to explode, dealing AoE Pyro DMG equal to that of a Pyrotechnic Strike. The DMG dealt through the Grin-Malkin Hat in this way is considered Charged Attack DMG. |
Attributes | Level 1 | Level 15 |
---|---|---|
Skill DMG | 167.2% | 397.1% |
Skill DMG Bonus | 53.2% ATK Per Stack | 126.35% ATK Per Stack |
HP Regeneration | 20% Per Stack | 20% Per Stack |
Cooldown | 15 Seconds | 15 Seconds |
Lyney’s elemental skill deals AoE pyro damage in front of him, restores HP, and detonates any hats present on the field for AoE damage instead of single-target damage. Prop Surplus stacks not only enhance the skill’s damage but also boost the HP regeneration that Lyney receives. Therefore, it’s crucial to conclude Lyney’s rotation with his skill rather than initiating it with his skill.

Elemental Burst | |
Unleashing his magic, Lyney turns hinself into a Grin-Malkin Cat that can move around quickly. (Not to be mistaken for the Grin-Malkin Hat. They’re two different props!) When the Grin-Malkin Cat gets close to opponents, it will send flames falling down on them, dealing at most 1 instance of Pyro DMG to each opponent. When the duration ends, he will dismiss the Grin-Malkin Cat and ignite fireworks that deal AoE Pyro DMG, summon 1 Grin-Malkin Hat, and grant himself 1 Prop Surplus stack. Grin-Malkin Cat can be actively canceled. |
Attributes | Level 1 | Level 15 |
---|---|---|
Burst DMG | 154% | 365.75% |
Explosive Firework DMG | 414% | 983.25% |
Duration | 3 Seconds | 3 Seconds |
Cooldown | 15 Seconds | 15 Seconds |
Energy Cost | 60 | 60 |
Lyney’s elemental burst is flexible and can be used to start off his rotation or in the middle of his rotation. During the 3 seconds that he turns into a cat in a hat, you can move around and the hat will deal pyro damage to any nearby enemies, but only once per enemy.
To finish off the 3 seconds of the burst, or if you cancel it early, the cat will explode for AoE pyro damage, grant Lyney a stack of Prop Surplus, and summon a hat identical to the ones created from his special charged attack.

These are the upcoming characters that have been announced by miHoyo and some of them are leaked by beta tester players. Their stats are yet to be confirmed and may change upon release.
Lyney’s Voice Same as Blade in Honkai Starrail
Hey, is this Lyney ascension material list final?
based on leaked info and mostly likely true. half of lyney level up materials will be available after the release of fontaine region.
Cuteness to rival Venti’s! Of course, no one will surpass Lord Barbatos, but Lyney sure comes close!
I will finally have my pyro dps… After all these years without a pyro dps that is not diluc, my time has come!!
He will be mine I’m on my knees for him
Didnt expect him to be pyro
MY BOY HES HERE!!! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT AHAHA
Tbh, I have been waiting Lynette for years now ahahaha
I’m going to try so hard to get him, he looks like he would be a good pyro character
Definitely saving for him after I get Klee! I’m Inlove with this boy already
I honestly can’t wait just for Lyney to come out! I’m very exited
i need him…i will have him,i must have him- more then any character I MUST HAVE
The design of Freminet may seem simple compared to the other Fontaine characters that have been announced, but simplicity doesn’t mean it’s weak. In fact, this design is really cool! I’m really excited to see him in action!
His design is amazing, and his animations are top-notch. Since he’s a magic-based character, the possibilities for his abilities are endless!
I agree. Some characters seem to have too many details, like the developers wanted to include everything. This is a nice change of pace.
so much hopium in these comments lmao
How is praising a character’s design ‘hopium’? Are you drunk or sth?
To be fair all of the Fontaine characters look like they can be 4*
Um, excuse me?
Fontaine brings us the most exquisite outfits we’ve ever seen in Genshin even to 4* characters.
I know a 5* when I see one.
4* are just harder to divide now.
He’s design is beyond amazing I can’t wait for him to be playable!!
If this hat stays on ingame model, I will die happy. We need more hats
HE LOOKS SO COOL ITS SO AWESOME THAT WE FINALLY SEE HIM PLAYABLE
rip to those people who thought Lyney and Lynette was gonna ba a 2in1 character, and i am one of them
There was so many events leading us to this testing out similar mechanics… All for nothing.
I’m guilty of this too
im pretty sure their kits are meant to work together
Waifu sold separately. I guess that’s a win for waifu collectors, no sausage on the side like Eula’s upcoming banner.
Honestly same, when i first saw the prelude teaser i thought It was gonna be like that, kind of like how Lu/Ciel form Elsword works
I’m very confused about how a two-in-one character is supposed to work, anyway.
I genuinely thought that their ultimate ability would let them switch with each other, meaning they would have a different E skill but keep the same weapons and everything.
That’s what I thought too! Just imagine both of them combining together in an ultimate burst. The animation would be super awesome!
tbh it’s genius idea but Hoyo wouldn’t make this breakthrough
I can’t believe his design survived until now. I can’t wait to have him!
Couldnt really tell if its a him of a her
His voice is clearly masculine and he looks boyish- I dunno what you’re on, but pretty boys are never a bad thing in my book! We can all agree he’s great to look at, right?
After watching the teaser trailer, I’m really excited about getting Lyney as a playable character. However, I’ll have to wait for a rerun of his banner for now because I’m currently saving up for the Hydro Archon, Wriothesly, and Neuvillette.
If Lyney uses cards for his attacks and skills, then I would think about trying to get him. To be honest, I’m even more excited for the Hydro Archon, the girl with the gun, and Neuvilette.
If I had to make a guess, the twins might have special abilities that make their elemental powers stronger when they work together. They could also have skills that boost each other’s damage or take turns using their abilities, kind of like how the Noblesse artifact set works.
I hope Lyney and Lynette have some cool interactions or abilities that work really well together. They were shown together in the preview, so it would be disappointing if their skills don’t complement each other or if someone else works better with them.
Although I really liked seeing the twins in the trailer, I think I’ll pass on version 4.0. I want to focus on getting Wanderer as a guaranteed pull and collecting as many copies of Faruzan as I can. Maybe I’ll even get a C1 Kokomi if I’m lucky! If I end up enjoying their abilities, then I might consider getting them when they come back.
On the other hand, I’m really excited about the new characters in the courtroom roster, like Furina and Neuvillette. And I absolutely love Arlecchino’s design, so I hope she becomes a playable character.
If Lyney keeps doing the same old fire arrow attack, I won’t be interested. But if he starts using a cool new style where he throws flaming cards using a special blade, that’s something different and I’ll definitely be interested. I care more about unique fighting styles when choosing a character to play, rather than just how much damage they can do. Focusing on numbers and power can be boring to me.
I really hope that Lyney will be a damage-dealing character because I really need one. I missed the chance to get Hu Tao and Yoimiya, so I’m hoping to have better luck with Lyney.
Is it just me or I kinda have a crush on Lyney
I took a break from playing the game before the Sumeru update came out, so I don’t have any Sumeru characters except for Layla and Nahida. I stopped playing because I wanted to gather more information about the game’s story. I’m really excited for Lyney, though! Can’t wait to see what they bring to the game!
I hope the siblings can cooperate and have cool abilities that work together. It’s always fun to play characters who have special teamwork. It would be awesome if they had a powerful move they could do when they’re all on the team, like the Herrscher of Finality, Truth, and Origin in Honkai Impact.
Pretty sad to see the direction genshin his going… Fontaine and all character dont appeal me at all…
