Best Team Comps For Raiden Shogun (Baal)

Raiden Shogun’s place in many team comps is pretty clear once you get the idea how to use her but the way the developers have designed her is a little different than the other Archons.

She’s basically there to provide your team with Energy while also dishing out some pretty serious damage. These are broad roles that a lot of other support characters can do which is why she has two very particular use cases.

The first one being she’s a support but also a quickswap character. Making sure you’re using the best possible artifacts and weapons will feel rewarding and scale her power level accordingly when going into her burst mode. Which brings us to the second use case.

Raiden wants you to build team comps with highest possible energy cost. You’ve probably noticed this after reading walls of text on her talents. One of the things that stand out is the importance of how many energy points your team mates’ bursts cost. Not only can they deal increased damage from their own bursts when Raiden’s elemental skill is active but they also help her build Resolve faster.

As an example, anyone who has 80 Energy cost like Xiangling or Xingqiu will roughly gain 23% additional DMG to their burst and produce 15 Resolve if both of Raiden’s talents are at level 8. Compare this to a character with 40 energy cost and these bonuses will be only half as powerful.

Best Team For Raiden Shogun

With all of this out of the way, These are the best team comp for Raiden Shogun. Many different teams we’re tested and some showing a lot of promise even when just using mediocre artifacts.

Most of these team is something you can plug and play in Spiral Abyss. Obviously, it’s reset comes with floors and chambers of varying enemies and weaknesses so i would suggest you to use these teams as a foundation and tweak it for your situation and preference.

Raiden Team #1

This is by far our favorite dps team for Raiden Shogun. Without a doubt Xingqui shines as the best support by being able to provide tankiness, healing, damage, and constant Hydro procs all in one. His burst being high cost also adds even more for Raiden’s resolved charge. It’s borderline impossible to replace him in this team given all that he does.

Take your pick between Sara and Fischl to complete the Electo Resonance. Depending on the situation Sara will give more aoe an attack buff while Fischl will act as a better battery.

Mihoyo has released a statement indirectly saying that Beidou will not work with Raiden. Unless that changes, Beidou sadly won’t be great with DPS Raiden.

Lastly, Zhongli for the extra tankiness, shielding, and crown control. If you find yourself taking too much damage and need some extra healing maybe you can replace only with the likes of Bennett instead.

However, i believe that if you play around Zhongli’s shield cooldown, the sustain you get from Xingqui should be enough.

Raiden Team #2

This team is more reliant on big AoE nuke taking advantage of the insane multiplier on Raiden’s burst damage. Mona’s elemental burst should melt mobs instantly. Kazuha contributes by buffing your elemental damage and also providing more opportunities for elemental reactions.

Be careful with this combo in the presence of Fischl and Raiden’s elemental skill as those may accidentally proc your Mona’s omen before your Raiden’s burst goes off. You’ll lack good healing on this team so it gets countered by world bosses and final floors of Spiral Abyss but for everything else it will be more than sufficient. It’s surely a combo that’s very satisfying to pull off.

Raiden Team #3

Raiden works pretty well with Eula if you plan on cycling their bursts to offset the energy costs and cooldowns. Not only does she enable super conduct but both her and Eula pair very well with Xingqui. This mean that your Xingqui’s burst will be extremely relevant no matter who you’re attacking with. This team is the most efficient in terms of making use of both Eula and Raiden’s main damage source.

For the final character, i like Diona to pick up the extra crit rate from the Cryo Resonance and also sustainability that comes with her kit. If you feel like the extra sustain is unnecessary, you can always swap Diona for Sara in favor of more damage.

Raiden Team #4

This team is one of the only teams that overload Raiden works well with. Yoimiya has a range to continue to dps characters as you push them away.

One of the main problems of Yoimiya and Fischl together is that oz’s range is limited. As you inflict overload, there’s a certain point where Oz can no longer reach the target Yoimiya is attacking. Raiden solves this and makes her ideal for Yoimiya’s best team.

Xingqui is a must-have as Yoimiya’s base damage is absurdly low. Any extra multiplier she can get with Vaporize is very much needed. With access to Pyro, Electro, and Hydro, you’re also able to inflict three reactions simultaneously.

The last spot on this team goes to an Aenmo character. I prefer Venti to group enemies for a burst damage but Kazuha and Sucrose work better if you switch onto Raiden to DPS down enemies.

If you feel you need more sustain on this team, you can replace Xingqui with someone like Bennett or choose to not play Anemo all together in favor of a heal or shield.

Raiden Team #5

Childe works nicely with Raiden as he needs a solid sub dps when his elemental skill goes on cooldown. Similar to the idea behind Eula’s team. Once you finish your rotation with Childe, switch to Raiden bursts while you wait for cooldowns.

Because Childe is your main dps, i prefer Xingqui especially Xingqui constellation 2 over Electro Resonance. However, if you don’t have Constellation 2 on Xingqui, you can replace him with Sara or Fischl.

Jean works very well as the Anemo character in this team and provides good sustain especially with Hydro Resonance. Kazuha is great here too if you’re great at dodging.

Raiden Team #6

The logic for Hu-Tao and Raiden together is identical to what i said previously about Yoimiya. However i like Chongyun in this team and it’s my favorite sleeper pick especially Chongyun in Constellation 2 where you can reduce cooldowns of your abilities.

Both Hu-Tao and Raiden have ways to maximize the attack speed in Chongyun’s field without having their attacks converted to cryo. In addition, Chongyun’s burst is a great finisher for your Hu-Tao’s rotation as he can inflict three instances of melt.

This team is very light on healing but that’s okay due to Hu-Tao’s burst being a form of self-sustain coupled with Xingqui’s elemental skill. If you really need more healing or survivability, try Zhongli or Bennett over the Chongyun pick.

Wrapping It Up!

As you can see Xingqui is in pretty much every one of these teams and that just reinforced the idea of how limiting Electro characters are. It also speaks to the fact that the support pool for this game is in a terrible spot right now considering how there are only a few supports that make up most of the good comps in the game.

On one hand i get the frustrations that the community has over Raiden’s release. On the other hand i also saw this coming and most of you should have.

I’d like to open up the comments section to discuss this more in depth with the community so please put your thoughts below and i’ll try to read everything.

If i missed a team comp that you think has a lot of potential also make sure to comment down below. I’d love to check all of them out.

I use Raiden, Bennett, Xingqiu, and Venti.

my team is raiden, kazuha, bennet and diona, but i would need some help to replace diona with someone else

use xiangling

Xiangling is mainly viable if you have a cryo or hydro unit though. I’d suggest Xingqiu, especially if he has a lot of ER% because he can battery anyone having trouble with energy.

idk about you guys but I use jean, baal, and xiao

I’m using ayaka, baal, diona, Mona

My team are Baal, Xingqiu, Noelle and flex between Fischl or Xiangling.

I am using Ayaka with my BAAL. Crazy DPS. With Xingqui and Qiqi for heals and cryo resonance. All 3 of them have a 60 energy cost for burst. Using BAAL elemental skill before Ayakas Ultimate burst increases her allready insane burst damage by 23%. Crazy good combo. I even use Qiqiburst even when i dont NEED big heals. It keeps everyone up 100% and does decent AOE damage and increases resolve…..

Honestly I’m pretty proud of my Baal despite my team not being the best. Currently, it’s Baal, Diluc, Noelle, and Diona. All those character ar super fun to play so I don’t think it matters too much :)

Please nevermind in these 7 days I’ve aquired Kokomi, Keqing, and Jean-

im using baal, yanfei, diluc, and diona

i use the team with yoimiya, its a lot of fun since baal covers yoimiya gap in dps, since my yoimiya is c1, the duration of her burst lasts longers, so when baal is killing enemies the mark keep spreading endlessly

Why are is always one character that i don’t have in every comp?

I got baal, Xingqiu, Bennet

I use diluc baal rosaria and Barbara

how good was it?

She works great with Dilucs elements burst. Also with qiqi or Barbra stacked on top of that

One of the problems with Diluc is his Burst is only 40 energy cost doesnt get full benefit from Baals skill and does not give back to her reaolve as much. My 2c i have not tried it though…
