Alhaitham Talents

Alhaitham is a dendro unit whose kit centers around being on-field dealing dendro damage, applying dendro, and triggering reactions. His off-field teammates are there to support him, add damage, and enable reactions.

His gameplay does have certain timings and combos that you can maximize for damage if you want to. But if you’re still on the fence about him, I do advise you to do his trial run and see if his playstyle is your cup of tea.

Abductive Reasoning | Attack
Normal Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.
Charge Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.
Plunge Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Alhaitham’s normal attacks consist of a 5-hit combo, with the third hit dealing two instances of damage. It looks very cool, especially with his high kick and flip. His charge attack also deals two instances of damage and costs 20 stamina. However, his auto attacks are meant to be used in tandem with his skill and mirror mechanics.

Universality: An Elaboration on Form | Skill
Rushes forward, dealing Dendro DMG to nearby opponents when the rush ends, causing a Chisel-Light Mirror to form. Holding this skill will cause it to behave differently.
Hold
Enters Aiming Mode to adjust the direction of Alhaitham’s rush attack.
Chisel-Light Mirror
When this skill is unleashed, Alhaitham will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. If there are no Mirrors at this time, he will generate 1 additional Mirror. Chisel-Light Mirrors will have the following properties:
  • When he possesses Chisel-Light Mirrors, Alhaitham’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Dendro DMG. This cannot be overridden.
  • When attacks of the aforementioned kinds hit opponents, the Chisel-Light Mirrors will unleash a Projection Attack that deals AoE Dendro DMG based on the number of Mirrors on the field.
  • A total of 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors can exist at once.
  • The Chisel-Light Mirrors will disappear one after the other over time, and will all disappear when Alhaitham leaves the field.

Chisel light mirrors are a vital part of Alhaitham’s gameplay for two main reasons. First, as long as a mirror exists, his auto attacks will gain dendro infusion that cannot be overridden. This enables his on-field dendro DPS and application role.

Second, when Alhaitham performs auto attacks while having mirrors, he also executes projection attacks, which are another major source of dendro damage and application. A projection attack can be triggered every 1.6 seconds and is considered as skill damage. The number of mirrors corresponds to how many hits will be dealt and the animation it does.

With one mirror, it hits once, shown by a blade in a square-shaped path. With two mirrors, it hits twice, shown via boomerang swords. And with three mirrors, it hits thrice, shown by swords reigning down on the enemy.

One mirror will be removed at 4-second intervals, so as time goes by and you’re unable to add mirrors, your projection attacks do fewer hits. But that’s okay since usual rotations can allow Alhaitham to maintain two to three mirrors during most of his on-field time.

Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena | Burst
Creates a Particular Binding Field and deals multiple instances of AoE Dendro DMG. If Chisel-Light Mirrors exist when this ability is unleashed, all such Mirrors will be consumed and increase the number of DMG instances dealt. 2 seconds after this ability is unleashed, if 0/1/2/3 Mirrors were consumed, Alhaitham will generate 3/2/1/0 new Mirrors in turn.

Upon casting it, he creates a field in front of him that deals dendro hits based on how many mirrors you have. When you cast it, it starts at 4 hits with no mirrors and maxes out at 10 hits with 3 mirrors. It consumes the mirrors you have upon casting, but it also creates mirrors based on how many you are lacking.

Casting with no mirrors will create three mirrors, but at the other end, casting with three mirrors will create no mirrors. Note, though, that the mirror creation has a two-second delay after the burst animation. So, if you do normal attacks while the mirrors haven’t generated yet, a few hits will only do physical damage.

Alhaitham Passive Talents

Unlock 2 more passive talents for Alhaitham on his first and fourth ascension phase.

Law of Reductive Overdetermination
When Alhaitham crafts Weapon Ascension Materials, he has a 10% chance to receive double the product.
Four-Causal Correction
When Alhaitham’s Charged or Plunging Attacks hit opponents, they will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. This effect can be triggered once every 12 seconds.
Mysteries Laid Bare
Each point of Alhaitham’s Elemental Mastery will increase the DMG dealt by Projection Attacks and Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 0.09%. The maximum DMG increase this way for both these abilities is 90%.

Alhaitham Constellations

New constellation’s passive abilities can be unlocked for Alhaitham each time you obtain a character’s specific item called Stella Fortuna and these upgrades can permanently enhance Alhaitham in various ways.

Debate

Negation
Increases the Level of Universality: An Elaboration on Form by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Elucidation
When Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, the following effects will become active based on the number of Chisel-Light Mirrors consumed and created this time around:
  • Each Mirror consumed will increase the Elemental Mastery of all your other party members by 30 for 15 seconds.
  • Each Mirror generated will grant Alhaitham a 10% Dendro DMG Bonus for 15 seconds.
The pre-existing duration of the aforementioned effects will be cleared if you use Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena again while they are in effect.
Sagacity
Increases the Level of Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Structuration
Alhaitham gains the following effects:
  • 2 seconds after Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, he will generate 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors regardless of the number of mirrors consumed.
  • If Alhaitham generates Chisel-Light Mirrors when their numbers have already maxed out, his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG will increase by 10% and 70% respectively for 5 seconds.
If this effect is triggered again during its initial duration, the duration remaining will be increased by 5s.

Can’t wait to crown him

So
He’s like a DENDRO Keqing and his damage scales on EM, therefore his built would be

Flower + Feather + EM + EM/Dendro DMG Bonus + CRIT RATE/DMG

His play-style reminds me more of Tartaglia than Keqing to be honest.
